【摘要】:Thetheoreticalmaximumspecificgravitiesanddensitiesofbituminouspavingmixturesarefundamentalpropertieswhosevaluesareinfluencedbythecompositionofthemixtureintermsoftypesandamountsofaggregatesandbituminousmaterials.Maximumspecificgravityisused(1)inthecalculationofairvoidsinthecompactedbituminouspavingmixture,(2)incalculatingtheamountofbitumenabsorbedbytheaggregate,and(3)toprovidetargetvaluesforthecompactionofpavingmixtures.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultsproducedbythisstandardaredependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingtheprocedureandthecapability,calibration,andmaintenanceoftheequipmentused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofStandardPracticearegenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticealonedoesnotcompletelyassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;followingthesuggestionsofPracticeorsomesimilaracceptableguidelineprovidesameansofevaluatingandcontrollingsomeofthosefactors1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthetheoreticalmaximumspecificgravityanddensityofuncompactedbituminouspavingmixturesat25x00B0;C[77x00B0;F].1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.2.1ResidualpressuremeasurementsareshowninboththeSIunitofkPaandthecommonlyusednon-standardequivalentunitofx201C;mmofHgx201D;.1.2.2MeasurementsofvolumeandmassareonlygiveninSIunitsbecausetheyaretheonlyunitstypicallyusedinpracticewhenperformingthistestmethod.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
