【摘要】:Thetestmethodisdesignedtopredictthehightemperaturedepositformingtendenciesofanengineoil.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoscreenoilsamplesorasaqualityassurancetool.FIG.1Thermo-oxidationEngineOilSimulationTest(TEOST)1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheproceduretodeterminetheamountofdepositsformedbyautomotiveengineoilsutilizingthethermo-oxidationengineoilsimulationtest(TEOST).Aninterlaboratorystudyhasdeterminedittobeapplicableovertherangefrom10to65mgtotaldeposits.Note18212;Operationalexperiencewiththetestmethodhasshownthetestmethodtobeapplicabletoengineoilshavingdepositsovertherangefrom2to180mgtotaldeposits.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
